State Officer Election

An officer’s year is one of exciting challenges, countless opportunities and life-long friendships. Holding a State Office comes with responsibilities and requires a time commitment, but it’s an experience that will help members grow their leadership and personal skills!

Before choosing to run for State Office, please review the State Officer Election policy, which was approved by the Board of Directors in November 2023. This policy details the process by which State Officers are elected and outlines the requirements for all candidates. Completed State Officer Candidate applications and accompanying Personal Profile Sheets should be submitted to the State Adviser by February 15, 2024.

Chapter Voting Delegates

Each local Educators Rising chapter in good standing with the Association shall be entitled to be represented by voting delegates at all official business sessions and delegate assemblies held during the annual State Leadership Conference and other conferences. The number of voting delegates representing each local Educators Rising chapter during official business sessions and delegate assemblies shall be determined in accordance with the following guidelines:
  • Members shall be represented in the Association through duly selected delegates of local chapters;
  • Each chapter shall select no more than two delegates who shall be considered voting delegates at the state conference(s). Each chapter may select an alternate for each delegate;
  • Each local chapter shall have two votes, one for each voting delegate. (Nebraska Educators Rising Bylaws, 2020 Update)
